Since it is now almost 6 months to my wedding, I thought it would be a good idea to jot down everything that we have planned, and what we still need to figure out. When we got engaged it felt like we had all the time in the world to figure out all of the details, but we have both been so busy with work for me, work and business school for him, that months have gone by in the blink of an eye! Here is everything that is certain at this point:

Reception: 6pm-12am Newport Harbor Yacht Club
Theme and Colors: My fiancé Ben and I have decided on a preppy, east coast, nautical theme. Our colors are navy, white, and yellow.
Ceremony: Still being determined. The yacht club only allows 100 people for the ceremony and our wedding will have around 200 guests. I am looking at churches and parks nearby and have still not decided where the ceremony will take place.
Dress: Maggie Sottero- deposit submitted! The dress will be ready by June or July.
Bridesmaid Dresses: I have decided on dresses that are navy and long by Watters. I still need to email my bridesmaids and have them order their dresses. When they ordered them it will take 3 months to have the dresses delivered.
Photography: Colby Elizabeth Photography booked!
Flowers: My mom’s friend from high school will be arranging our flowers. We would like simple and classic but haven’t discussed this much yet.
Music: We will probably have a DJ since it is less expensive than a band. We have a couple in mind but have not researched that much yet.
Invitations: We decided not to do save the dates. My mom took a letter press class so she will be doing the invitations with Laura Hoopers’ calligraphy, and we will likely have a map designed by Laura.
Registry: We have not done this yet but plan to get to it next month.
Wedding Showers: These have not been planned yet but will probably take place in June or July.
Bachelorette Party: 3-day cruise to Baja in June!
Honeymoon: I can’t wait for this! We have no idea where we are going to go yet but it will be well deserved!

There is so much left to do, but so far we have been enjoying planning and are looking forward to getting some of these bigger logistics nailed down.
