Working with marble tiles has become increasing popular in the wedding & event industry. They are quite beautiful & offer a fun alternative to standard paper escort or place cards.
You can write on them with paint pens or you can still use dip pen & ink. If using a dip pen & ink, we recommend spraying them with a fixative to avoid rubbing off of the ink after you are finished.

Hi Laura! I used a sharpie oil based pen on my marble tiles, I shipped some to a friend but they got smeared! Do you recommend using the gold pentouch pen? Will that smear if shipped?
Or will the spray prevent it from smearing?
Do you spray the fixative before or after lettering?
How do you get the meshing off the back of the tiles?! I’m having a hard time finding a good way to do that.
Hi Laura,
I’m using a Sharpie Permanent Marker with a fine point on polished marble tile for a wedding. Will fixative be sufficient in keeping the marker adhered to the tile? Thanks!
Are the slabs washable after you spray the fixative?
I have a request to paint a name on a marble tile. Would I use a paint pen, and how would I seal it?
Thanks!
Yes you could use a paint pen & then spray with a fixative to help prevent the ink from rubbing off. We linked the paint pens & fixative spray in the post!
